St. Matthew’s is served by one full-time priest, a vocational deacon, and three other part-time positions, in addition to the many people who volunteer their time for the church.

The Rev. Jacqueline Schmitt, Priest-In-Charge

Jackie joined us in March of 2017, and will be guiding the parishioners of St. Matthew’s through the time of transition.  We are very grateful for Jackie’s spiritual, pastoral, and interim leadership, experience in the church, and wonderful sermons!

Vocational Deacon

The Rev. Deacon Shelly Banner

Deacon Shelly is a vocational (permanent) deacon who was ordained in 2005 from the first class of deacons and priests that were educated through the CNY Diocesan Formation program. As a non-stipendiary deacon, she is also bi-vocational and teaches music part-time in a parochial school in Oswego .

Passionate about learning, it is never surprising to find her reading in her non-committed time. Equally passionate about gardening, singing, traveling and time spent with friends and family, her idea of a joy filled occasion is when any number of them combine.
