What a wonderful day we had on Monday, celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. and his beautiful legacy of spreading peace and giving to others.
We learned a lot, created a lot and gave a lot.
We baked cookies and made sandwiches for the St. Matthew’s sponsored Samaritan Center dinner. We also learned to make communion bread for St. Matthew’s parishioners.
In addition to the food making, many volunteers learned to knit, so that they can make and donate scarves and prayer shawls for those in need.
The celebration ended with a round of “Happy Birthday” to Martin Luther King, Jr. and of course… cake!
